How it works

 

In the State of Iowa when you purchase carbonated beverages from a retail store you are charged a deposit for the bottle and/or can that the liquid is in.  Once you are finished with the beverage you can bring that bottle and/or can back to Abby Lea's and they will give you your deposit back.  This is a good way to keep our streets, ditches, parks and other areas clean.

 

Abby Lea's will pay you the deposit back for your bottles and/or cans and you can either take the money with you or you can use the money towards a purchase here at our store.  We sell many items along with the cold beverages once mentioned.  Being next to the park we sell items that we believe people who are camping may need among other things that the locals ask for us to carry in our inventory.

 

The redemption center does NOT have a limit however if you bring in five or more big pop bags we will not be able to count your bags while you wait.  We can either call you when we are done or send you a check.  If you do not bring in five or more bags just be aware it is a first come first serve situation and although you may only have one small garbage bag if we are busy counting someone else's bags we may not be able to get to you right away.

 

We offer a pick up service for your redemption.  We will travel within a 30 mile radius of our location to pick up your bags for a $5 fee/stop.  Once we count your bags we will send you a check with the $5 fee already deducted out of your can money.
